Application Period for New Affordable Apartment Community
Posted on 07/29/2024Luminus@Evermont will offer 58 new apartments affordable to families earning 40%-80% of the area median income (AMI). It will feature a community room, onsite laundry, community garden, car/bicycle parking, and onsite management.
Applications for these 58 units will be available starting Tuesday, 7/23/2024 by visiting https://lahousing.lacity.org/AAHR and must be submitted by August 22nd, 2024.
Applications may also be picked up and dropped off at the temporary leasing office, located at 8510 Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90047.
Apply online, drop-off, or mail.
All applications will be randomly ordered and placed into a lottery on September 5th, 2024.

University Park & South LA Tree Equity Project
Posted on 07/22/2024The USC Urban Trees Initiative (USC Trees), founded by USC Dornsife Public Exchange, is partnering with Koreatown Youth & Community Center (KYCC) and LA Sanitation and Environment (LASAN) to plant and care for hundreds of trees across the South L.A. communities of Adams-Normandie, University Park, and Expo Park.
Their goal is to increase the tree canopy cover and provide shade in areas lacking trees, which are most impacted by heat and poor air quality.
Each tree planted will receive 3 years of watering and maintenance from KYCC, with funding and support from USC Trees and LASAN.
Tree plantings will start in Fall 2024!
