Lucas serves as an elected NANDC At-Large representative, covering City Council Districts 1, 8 and 9 for South Los Angeles. As part of the neighborhood council he sits on the Policy Committee, which vets and advises the wider board on policy issues impacting the community. He is also a member of the Adams Normandie Neighborhood Organization, pushing forward change at the most local level possible.
Lucas is the co-founder and chief product offer of a venture-backed lifestyle subscription service called Fernish (www.fernish.co), currently based out of downtown Los Angeles. He also serves as an advisor to a number of companies he's invested in as an active angel investor, both for companies in the LA area and across the US. He's an active participant in the entrepreneurial community of Los Angeles, participating in and facilitating multiple meet-ups. He's called many places home -- being a military brat and then a product of the liminal generation moving to pursue opportunities -- but he now owns a home in the West Adams neighborhood and is raising a child in this community. He holds a bachelors degree in political science & philosophy from the University of Washington
His civic interests are heavily anchored in sustainability, economic viability and improvements, and pubic infrastructure that impact quality of life in a durable fashion.
