The Arlington Avenue Sewer Rehabilitation, the LA Department of Public Works project from Jefferson Boulevard to Obama Boulevard that will increase the reliability of the sewer system and protect the environment for decades to come, is now underway. The City’s sewer system requires regular maintenance, which may include cleaning, repair, rehabilitation, and replacement. The project will continue through Fall 2020. Please be aware that this work will cause traffic delays.

NANDC had a very busy 2019. We exist to encourage more citizen participation in government and make government more responsive to local needs. To that end we completed community beautification projects with the assistance of the Department of Sanitation and provided support to a number of festive community events, either fiscally or with good old-fashioned sweat equity. We improved our outreach to our stakeholders and voiced our support for projects in our area that will bring more employment opportunities to our community.

To prevent the displacement of individuals and families facing exorbitant rent increases, the LA City Council recently approved an "Emergency Renters Relief Program." The citywide program offers temporary financial assistance to prevent evictions for non-payment of rent through December 31, 2019. Beginning on January 1, 2020, the Tenant Protection Act of 2019 will protect renters from excessive rent increases.
