Neighborhood Council elections happen every two years. Together, LA’s 99 Neighborhood Councils form the grassroots level of the City’s government. In 2019, 94 of LA’s 99 Neighborhood Councils will participate in the election cycle.Read More

Each year, thousands of people gather throughout Los Angeles County to take part in the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count. Having information about our homeless neighbors makes life better for all of us. NANDC members are going to count this year, will you?

Mayor Eric Garcetti announced the launch of ShakeAlertLA, the nation’s first publicly available earthquake early warning mobile application. The launch fulfilled his 2017 promise to launch the app by the end of 2018.
The ShakeAlertLA app can provide you with critical seconds of warning that an earthquake has begun and shaking is imminent. Alerts are issued when an earthquake of magnitude 5.0 or larger is detected by a regional sensor network and shaking is expected to be felt in the Los Angeles area.
