On October 19, 2017 the California Transportation Commission voted to fund the $6.3 million Jefferson Beautiful streetscape plan two years early. The vote means that work on sidewalk repairs, pedestrian lighting, bike lanes, street trees, pedestrian refuges and more from Vermont Ave. west to Western Ave. will get underway in the current 2017/2018 fiscal year.
The project team is grateful for Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson and his staff for requesting and receiving the expedited funding.
Jefferson Beautiful is a community-driven campaign to make Jefferson Blvd. a beautiful and vibrant commercial boulevard that is safe for people walking, biking and driving.
