Early data suggests many who are infected with COVID-19 are not symptomatic, which is why Mayor Garcetti is recommending you use cloth face coverings plus physical distancing for essential activities.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra on Price Gouging

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra has issued a price gouging alert following the recent statewide public health emergency declaration responding to novel coronavirus in California. Attorney General Becerra reminds all Californians that, under Penal Code Section 396, price gouging is illegal in all California communities during the declared state of emergency.

Crenshaw Christian Center Begins COVID-19 Testing

As the number of coronavirus cases continue to rise across Southern California, officials across the region are efforting ways to expand testing for the virus.

Early this morning, the Crenshaw Christian Center in South Los Angeles (7901 S. Vermont Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90044) opened its doors as a testing site for COVID-19.  Click Here for Directions to CCC in Los Angeles

The testing process is expected to take around 10 minutes.

Individuals eligible for testing at this time include:

  • Those with symptoms who are 65 and older
  • Those with symptoms who have underlying chronic health conditions
  • Those who are subject to a mandatory quarantine period due to a confirmed COVID-19 exposure.

Mayor Garcetti is issuing a "Safer at Home Emergency Order" — ordering all residents of the City of Los Angeles to stay inside their residences, and immediately limit all movement outside of their homes beyond what is absolutely essential. They are taking this urgent action to limit the spread of COVID-19 and save lives in our communities. The order is in effect at 11:59 p.m. tonight until April 19, 2020.
